Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Priyanka Gandhi, born on January 12, 1972, in Delhi, India, is an Indian politician and a prominent member of the Nehru-Gandhi family. She is the daughter of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, and the sister of Rahul Gandhi. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as she is formally known after her marriage to businessman Robert Vadra, has been involved in the Indian National Congress (INC) for many years, often seen as a key figure in the party's campaigns, particularly in Uttar Pradesh. Known for her charismatic presence and strong oratory skills, she formally entered politics in 2019 when she was appointed as the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

In Oct 2020 viral image claiming that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was seen hugging a woman who was purportedly a Naxalite posing as a relative of the Hathras victim.

BOOM contacted the brother of the deceased victim, who confirmed that the woman in the picture is actually his mother. Additionally, BOOM reached out to Dr. Rajkumari Bansal, who was falsely identified as the woman in the photo, and confirmed that she was not present in Hathras on the day the Congress leaders visited the victim's family. The viral claim was found to be completely false and misleading.
