Amit Malviya

Amit Malviya is an Indian politician and currently holds the position of the national convener of the IT cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Born in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Malviya pursued his education in business management at Dayalbagh Educational Institute and later completed his postgraduate diploma in finance management from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies at Symbiosis International University. Malviya had worked in the banking sector and began his political career in 2009 through the forum ‘Friends of BJP’. In 2015, he was appointed as the head of the BJP IT cell.

In April 2024, BOOM found a false claim being spread by Amit Malviya that BJP MP Nirahua speaking about Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath being childless was a deepfake.

We found that the viral clip was from an interview, uploaded on April 13, 2024 with the title, "MP Nirahua gets angry after being questioned on unemployment. He said don't give birth to children, like Yogi and Modi." The video was cropped and shared to make the false claim.

Another false claim spread by Amit Malviya was debunked by BOOM in March 2024. A viral video shared by Malviya showed Congress' Ajay Maken explaining the reason for Arvind Kejriwal's arrest. We found that the video was from February 2023 and unrelated to Arvind Kejriwal's recent arrest.
