India Crosses 1000 Cases
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recorded 1024 positive cases and 27 deaths in the country as of 07:30 PM on March 29, 2020. The Ministry has confirmed 45 new cases since its last update.
The Ministry has not recorded the new cases reported by Kerala and Maharashtra yet.
Maharashtra, Kerala Cross 200 Cases
The states of Kerala and Maharashtra have reported 202 and 203 confirmed cases respectively.
Kerala reported its first death on March 28 while Maharashtra reported one more death in Buldhana taking the state's death toll to eight.
Maharashtra government stated that 35 people had recovered while Kerala has reported 15 recoveries
VP Asks RS Members To Contribute One Month Salary

NIMHANS Launches Toll Free Mental Health Helpline For COVID-19
The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences has launched a toll free helpline to help people with psychosocial support and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and others during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Rapid Diagnostic Machines Have Not Started As Kits Have Not Arrived: ICMR
The Indian Council of Medical Research stated that the two rapid diagnostic machines that India wanted to use are not functional yet as the specific test kits are still delayed.
ICMR representative Dr. Gangakhedkar mentioned that 113 government laboratories and 47 private labs are currently functional and that India has only used upto 30% of its testing capacity.
ICMR has so far tested 34,971 samples and believes that the country's peak can only be predicted on the basis of how people adhere to the lockdown and social distancing.
PM' Fund For Tackling COVID-19
The Union Health Ministry in the daily address to the press has stated that the PM's Citizen Assistance and Relief Emergency Situation Funds (CARES) is helping tackle the rehabilitation and relief services.
For migrants, the responsibility has moved to the States wherein through the State Disaster Response Fund they will have to provide food and shelter to the labourers and workplaces should not deduct wages of workers.
Moreover, those migrants that have already moved, they will be quarantined at district or state borders for 14 days.
Center Asks States To Look After Migrants
The Center has directed States to ensure that there is no movement of people across cities.
The States have to make all arrangements for migrant labourers to continue staying at their place of work along with receiving timely payment of wages.
Action would be taken against those asking students/labourers to vacate premises during the lockdown.
This directive comes after labourers started walking towards their respective home towns from the cities that they were working in. UP and Delhi started state buses to ferry the migrant workers which led to Anand Vihar bus terminal being overcrowded.
A migrant worker who set out on foot from Delhi to Morena in Madhya Pradesh, collapsed on the Delhi-Agra Highway.
