Railways And Airways Pitch In To PM's Fund
The Airport and the Railway authorities have raised and pledged money for the PM's PM CARES fund to tackle COVID-19.
The Airport Authority of India stated that their employees have raised Rs 20 crore as an initial contribution to the PM CARES fund to fight the menace of COVID-19.
The Railways on the other hand stated that 13 lakh Railway employees donated one day's salary equaling to Rs 151 crore to PM-CARES fund to fight COVID-19.
First Interstate Case Detected
A man who travelled from Amravati in Maharashtra to Meerut in Uttar Pradesh in two trains has tested positive for COVID-19 making this the first positive interstate case to be detected.
The man stayed in three different places in Meerut. Four of his other contacts have tested positive due to close proximity with the person.
Spice Jet First Officer Tests Positive
A first officer from Spice Jet who did not fly internationally but last flew between Chennai to Delhi has tested positive on March 28.
Spice Jet stated that he was under quarantine since his last flight.
Maharashtra, Gujarat, JK Report New Cases, Deaths
Maharashtra has reported seven new cases taking the state's toll to 193 while one more death has been reported from Mumbai taking the death toll of the state to 7.
Gujarat reported three new cases and one death taking the count of cases to 58 and deaths to 5.
The Union Territory of Kashmir reported five new cases and one new death taking the case count to 36 and death toll to 2.
Tata Group of Companies Donates 1500 Crores Towards COVID-19
Tata Group of Companies have collectively donated 1500 crores rupees for fighting COVID-19.
Tata Trusts pledged 500 crores while Tata Sons pledged 1000 crores towards fighting the COVID-19 outbreak.
India Reports 979 Cases, 25 Deaths
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has reported 979 positive cases and 25 Deaths as of March 29, 2020.
Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh reported new deaths.
Maharashtra and Kerala with 186 and 182 cases respectively are leading in the number of cases.
Telengana Reports Its First Death
The state of Telengana has reported its first COVID-19 linked death, reports ANI. Further, 6 more cases have been reported from the state.

909 Cases Recorded In India
The latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare show 909 confirmed cases in India. The toll has not changed, and is still at 19.
5 lakh test kits ordered from the USA have arrived: ICMR
In their daily briefing, the ICMR said that 5 lakh test kits have arrived from the US, giving labs the capacity to test more patients.
Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate Asks Landlords Not To Ask For Rent From Labourers
Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budh Nagar district whose administrative headquarters is Greater Noida has ordered landlords not to take rent from workers/laborers staying as tenants for one month. The circular states that up to one year jail if the order is violated.
