Rapid Diagnostic Machines Have Not Started As Kits Have Not Arrived: ICMR

The Indian Council of Medical Research stated that the two rapid diagnostic machines that India wanted to use are not functional yet as the specific test kits are still delayed.

ICMR representative Dr. Gangakhedkar mentioned that 113 government laboratories and 47 private labs are currently functional and that India has only used upto 30% of its testing capacity.

ICMR has so far tested 34,971 samples and believes that the country's peak can only be predicted on the basis of how people adhere to the lockdown and social distancing.
