In April 2023, BOOM investigated a claim made by Congress and Adani Watch that mistakenly identified Gautam Adani's Taiwanese associate as a Chinese national.

BOOM found that the confusion arose because the document backing the claim referred to the associate as a citizen of the 'Republic of China,' which is Taiwan's official name, leading to the error.
