FIFA, International Federation of Association Football

FIFA(Fédération Internationale de Football Association) is the global governing body for the sport of soccer (football). Established in 1904, FIFA is responsible for organizing and overseeing major international football tournaments, most notably the FIFA World Cup, which is held every four years and is one of the most widely viewed sporting events in the world.

FIFA's headquarters are located in Zurich, Switzerland, and the organization is made up of 211 member associations, making it one of the largest sports organizations globally. FIFA's role includes setting the rules of the game, known as the Laws of the Game, as well as promoting the sport, fostering talent, and ensuring fair play and ethical behavior within the sport.

FIFA also organizes other major tournaments, such as the FIFA Women's World Cup, FIFA U-20 and U-17 World Cups, and the FIFA Club World Cup. In addition to its role in competitions, FIFA is involved in various development programs aimed at growing the sport in underrepresented regions and ensuring the game's accessibility to everyone.
