In December 2020, BOOM investigated a viral video that falsely claimed a train featuring an Adani-Wilmar advertisement was evidence of favoritism towards the Adani Group.

BOOM found that the Adani Wilmar branding on the train was part of a legitimate locomotive branding initiative by Indian Railways to generate revenue. The video was shared with misleading claims about the nature of the advertisement.
