Tamil Nadu is a state in Southern India, known for its rich cultural heritage, Dravidian architecture, and significant contributions to Indian art, literature, and classical music. The state’s capital is Chennai, a major hub for commerce, education, and the Tamil film industry (Kollywood). Other prominent cities include Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, and Salem.

Tamil Nadu has a history that dates back to ancient civilizations like the Cholas, Cheras, and Pandyas, with magnificent temples like the Brihadeeswarar Temple, Meenakshi Amman Temple, and Ramanathaswamy Temple reflecting its architectural brilliance. The state is also known for its vibrant festivals, including Pongal, Diwali, and Tamil New Year (Puthandu), which are celebrated with grandeur.

Politically, Tamil Nadu has been dominated by regional parties like the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), with a focus on Dravidian ideology and welfare policies. The state has seen significant political shifts over the years, particularly with charismatic leaders like M.G. Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa, and M. Karunanidhi shaping its governance and policies. Currently, the state is governed by the DMK, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
