Amit Shah is an Indian politician who has been the Home Minister of India since May 2019. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and also served as its national president. He has also been credited with the party's victory in the 2014 and 2019 Indian general elections. He previously held the post of Minister of State for Home Affairs in the Government of India and was elected as an MLA from Sarkhej in four consecutive elections from 1997 to 2017. He has played a key role in the expansion of the BJP's political base across India.
