      Bajrang Punia won India's sixth medal in Tokyo after winning bronze in the men's 65kg freestyle wrestling event. India began their final day at the Tokyo Olympics with a chance of adding at least three medals to its tally. Aditi Ashok, the biggest surprise of the Games from an Indian perspective, missed out on a medal in the women's golf event by a single shot to finish fourth. Neeraj Chopra will be the last Indian athlete in action when he takes part in the men's javelin throw final.

        Simone Biles Out Of Team Gymnastics Final

        Simone Biles, a favourite to complete a sweep of six gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, is out of the women's gymnastics team final reports NBC. According to NBC, the 24-year-old completed her first rotation on vault but exited the arena with a trainer. She was supposed to compete on uneven bars in her second rotation but reserve Jordan Chiles has been subbed in her place.

        10m Air Rifle Mixed Teams Fail To Qualify For Final

        The 10m air rifle mixed teams of Elavenil Valarivan and Divyansh Singh Panwar and Anjum Moudgil and Deepak Kumar have failed to make it to the finals. Valarivan-Panwar finished 12th in the first qualification while Moudgil-Kumar finished 18th.

        Satwiksairaj-Chirag Out Despite Beating British Pair

        The badminton men's doubles pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are out of the Olympics despite winning their final group A match against Britain's Ben Lane and Sean Vendy. The Chinese Taipei pair of Wang Chi Lin and Lee Yang have pipped the Indian pair by beating the top-ranked pair of Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya.

        Manu Bhaker-Saurabh Chaudhary Suffer Heartbreak In 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Event

        The Indian shooting contingent's Olympic campaign went from bad to worse after the pair of Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary failed to qualify for the final of the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Despite topping the first phase of the qualification, things went horribly wrong in the second phase as they only finished seventh. The other Indian team of Abhishek Verma and Yashaswini Singh Deswal failed to make it past the first qualification phase.

        Day 3 Roundup: Manika, Praneeth Bow Out; Fencer Bhavani Devi Wins On Olympic Debut

        It was a disappointing day for the Indian Olympic contingent. The day began on a positive note as Bhavani Devi won her round of 64 match on her Olympic debut but lost in the next round. In badminton, B Sai Praneeth bowed out of the men's singles event even before playing his second match as results in other matches in his group went against him. In doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost to the top-ranked doubles team but still have a good chance of making it to the knockout rounds.

        In table-tennis, Manika Batra and Sutirtha Mukherjee lost while Sharath Kamal progressed to the third round. In tennis, Sumit Nagal lost in the second round to World No 2 Daniil Medvedev.

        Angad Bajwa and Mairaj Khan failed to qualify for the finals of the men's skeet shooting event while the men's recurve archery team lost to South Korea in the QF.

        Swimmer Sajan Prakash failed to make the cut for the semi-finals of the men's 200m butterfly event while boxer Ashish Kumar lost in the round of 32 of the men's middleweight boxing event.

        Women's Hockey Team Lose To Germany

        The Indian women's hockey team suffered their second loss at the Olympics losing 2-0 to Germany in a close match. Rani Rampal and Co will have to win all three of their remaining pool A matches against Great Britain, Ireland and South Africa.

        Sharath Kamal Through To Round 3; Manika Batra, Sutirtha Mukherjee Bow Out

        Table tennis star Sharath Kamal has moved on to the third round in the men's singles event after beating Portugal's Tiago Polonia 2-11 11-8 11-5 9-11 11-6 11-9. Meanwhile, India's women's singles challenge ended after Manika Batra and Sutirtha Mukherjee lost in the third and second round respectively. Batra lost to Austria's Sofia Polcanova 8-11, 2-11, 5-11, 7-11 while Mukherjee lost to Portugal's Fu Yu 3-11, 3-11, 5-11, 5-11.
