Telangana Extends Lockdown To May 29
The Telangana government on May 5, 2020, extended the lockdown till May 29, 2020. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stated that the night curfew from 7 pm to 6 am will continue in the state.
Visa Restrictions To Stay In Place Till International Air Travel Prohibited
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a circular stating that all the visas granted to foreigners except those belonging in diplomatic, official, UN/international organisation, employment and project categories shall remain suspended till prohibition on international travel to and fro India is lifted by the Government.
India's Cases Reach 46,711
India reported 46,711 cases and 1589 deaths after reporting 284 new cases and 26 new deaths.
The country has also reported that 13,161 recovered from the virus
Stranded Indians To Be Charged For Flight Tickets
According to the Press Trust Of India, passengers will be charged for evacuation flights being operated by the government. Passengers will be charged Rs 50,000 on the London-Delhi flight and Rs. 12,000 on the Dhaka-Delhi flight.
Noida Police Passes Controversial Orders To Control COVID-19 Spread
The Noida police has issued two new orders pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Indian Express, not installing the Aarogya Setu App could see violators fined Rs. 1,000 or face six months in prison. The Noida Police has also imposed a Rs. 1,000 fine on anyone caught spitting saliva, gutka or tobacco in public.

UK Death Toll Highest In Europe
According to data released by UK's Office for National Statistics, 29,648 deaths had taken place as of April 24 due to COVID-19. This tally is higher than Italy's death toll.
Government to evacuate 15,000 stranded Indians across the world
The Indian government has released a plan to evacuate 15,000 Indians stranded around the world due to COVID-19. According to a report in Moneycontrol, the government will operate 64 flights in seven days and will evacuate Indians from Bahrain, UAE, Malaysia, USA, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Singapore, UK, Oman, Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The Indian Navy has announced that it has sent three ships to UAE and the Maldives to evacuate Indians. A defence spokesperson has said that the ships will return to Kochi port.
India's Case Count Rises To 46,427
The total number of cases in India reached 46,427 active cases with 1568 deaths. Since the last update, India has added 3,591 new cases while 179 victims died. For the fourth straight day, India recorded the largest single-day spike in new cases.
Punjab Reports 132 New Cases
Punjab reported a total of 1,232 cases out of which 1,081 cases are active with 23 deaths according to the state Health Department.
