CISF Reports 13 New COVID-19 Cases
The CISF has reported 13 new cases taking the total number of active COVID-19 cases in the force to 48. According to PTI, 31 of the 48 cases have been reported in the unit appointed to the Delhi Metro followed by 13 cases reported from the Mumbai International airport.
714 Cops Tested Positive For COVID-19: Maharashtra Police
According to ANI, 714 police officers in Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID-19. The report further states that five police officers have died due to the virus while 61 officers have recovered.
COVID-19 Cases In India Touch 60,000; Death Toll Rises To 1,981
According to the latest updates, India added 3,320 cases to take the overall case tally to 59,662. The death toll rose by 95 to 1,981. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state as the total cases reached 19,063 with 731 deaths.
No Military Presence In Mumbai: CM Thackeray
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackery dismissed rumours that the military will be called in to police Mumbai due to the rise in COVID-19 case. He said that the state government has asked the central government to make medical staff and facilities run by railways and military available if required.
Thackeray also said that if the state needs additional people to take over from sick or tired police forces, then the government would ask the central government for additional manpower.
Thackeray also called on AYUSH doctors to lend a hand to combat COVID-19.
Addressing the deaths of migrant workers in Aurangabad, Uddhav Thackeray calls for migrant workers not to fall for unverified news regarding travel information. Thackeray said that state machinery will get in touch with migrants and will not rest until migrant workers have been sent home.

Rate Of Patients Cured On The Rise: Lav Agarwal
Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that 1,273 patients have been cured of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the overall tally of cured patients to 15,545. Agarwal said that 29.36 per cent of all COVID-19 patients are being cured of the disease.
Revised List Of Zones To Be Shared Soon: Lav Agarwal
Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that once the analysis of data provided by the states is done in a couple of days, the revised list of red, orange and green zones will be provided to the states and media.
AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria had told The Hindu that going by current rates, India will hit the peak of cases by June-July. When asked to comment on Guleria's assessment, Agarwal said that if dos and don'ts are followed by citizens, India might not hit the peak.
