India Reports 7 Deaths, 360 Cases
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) reported 360 positive cases and seven deaths of COVID-19 as of March 22, 2020. India has seen 45 new positive cases in the last eight hours and 77 cases in the past 24 hours with three deaths being reported. One can view the statewide breakup below.
Gujarat Reports One Confirmed, One Suspected COVID-19 Deaths
Gujarat reported five new COVID-19 cases in the state on March 22, 2020. The state reported its first confirmed death due to COVID-19, and another suspected death. The first confirmed positive patient was a 69-year-old who died on March 22, 2020, in Surat a hospital and had Co-morbid conditions.
The second suspected death was a female patient aged 65 years who died at a Vadodara hospital. Her test report for COVID-19 is still awaited and she had a comorbid conditions (Diabetes & Hypertension).

One #COVID19 positive patient, Male 69 yrs, died today in Surat hospital. He was having Co-morbid conditions.
ICMR Approves 114 Govt Labs, 4 Private Labs
ICMR has approved 114 govt labs, 87 of which are up and running and 27 are going to be operationalised soonICMR. Four private labs in Mumbai have received the kits to start testing. They are Thyrocare Mumbai, Suburban Diagnostics, Mumbai, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd, Mumbai, and Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai.
The ICMR is in the process of approving other private laboratories.
West Bengal Announces Lockdown Measures
The West Bengal government on March 22, 2020, ordered shutting down of public transport, restaurants, shops, commercial activities, godowns with effect from March 22, 2020, to March 27, 2020. The circular excludes essential services like healthcare, law and order, and banks.

Lockdown In Nine Districts Of Karnataka
Karnataka government announced a lockdown in nine districts of the state - Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Dakshina Kannada, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Dharwad, Chikkaballapura, Kodagu and Belagavi till March 31, 2020.
Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai speaking to re[porters said that only essential services will be allowed to operate in the state.
