Kerala Reports First Death
Kerala reported its first coronavirus death on March 28, 2020. The patient was a 69-year-old man, who was under treatment at the Kalamasserry Government Medical College in Kochi. The patient had recently returned from Dubai and was admitted for coronavirus treatment on March 22, 2020.
This is the first death in the state due to COVID-19.
Five People In West Bengal Tested Positive
Five people in West Bengal tested positive for COVID-19 on March 27, 2020. One 9-month-old baby, 6-year-old kid, 11-year-old and two adults tested positive.

First images from India of the coronavirus causing the COVID-19 were captured by scientists in Pune, using transmission electron microscope imaging. They were published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research.
Maharashtra Reports 153 Total Cases, 5 Death
Maharashtra reported a total of 153 positive COVID-19 cases and one death on March 27, 2020. A 65-year old woman died today due to COVID-19 at Kasturba Hospital, Mumbai, which was the fifth death in the state.
Another suspected death due to COVID-19 was also reported who was an 85-year-old doctor. He died at a private hospital and two of his relatives had recently come back from England. The patient was a diabetic and had a pacemaker too and the diagnosis was done at a private lab, therefore, it is being verified.
Kerela Reports 39 New Positive Cases
Kerala reported 39 new COVID-19 cases on March 27, 2020. Among the 39 cases 34 are from Kasaragod district, two in Kannur and one each from Thrissur, Kollam and Kozhikode district. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that this is the highest no of COVID-19 cases reported in the state in a single day.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Tests Positive
United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson tests positive for Coronavirus and is experiencing mild symptoms. Johnson put out a 2.12 minutes clips in which he said that "I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus."

10 Month Old Baby In Karnataka Tests Positive, Source Unidentified
A 10-month-old baby boy from Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada has tested positive for COVID-19. The boy had no prior history of foreign travel and the Karnataka state bulletin states that the family had reportedly travelled to Kerala.
The boy had fever and severe acute respiratory illness. On March 23, he was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. On March 24, the baby's throat swab was taken for testing. He tested positive on March 26. The whole village that the boy belongs to has been quarantined.
Karanataka has totally reported 62 cases of COVID-19 with 3 deaths.
We have given an order to a PSU to provide 10,000 ventilators. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has also been requested to purchase 30,000 additional ventilators in one to two months: Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry

Restrictions On Domestic Flights Extended Till April 14, 2020
The government on March 27, 2020, extended the ban on domestic flights till April 14, 2020, that was imposed.
