In July 2021, Boom investigate a viral photo falsely claimed to show the kidnapped daughter of the Afghan envoy, Silsila Alikhil.

BOOM fact-checked and confirmed that the image actually depicts Gul Chahat, a Pakistani TikTok star and transwoman, who had sustained injuries. The photo is not related to the Afghan envoy's daughter.
