In June 2023, BOOM investigated a viral video that was falsely claimed to show Cyclone Biparjoy hitting Karachi.

BOOM found that the video actually depicted a recent sandstorm in Egypt and had no connection to Biparjoy or any events in Karachi or Gujarat. The video was misleadingly shared with incorrect claims about its location and context.
