Prof N John Camm

Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, who claimed to be Prof. N. John Camm, is accused of impersonating a British doctor and carrying out unauthorized surgeries, which led to a patient's death. Yadav was arrested on April 7th 2025, after an FIR was filed against him by Dr M K Jain, local Chief Health Medical Officer (CHMO), on April 5th 2025, for allegedly performing angiography and angioplasty at the hospital despite not having the requisite registration. He has been booked under sections 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 3(5) of the BNS and Section 24 of the Madhya Pradesh Ayurvigyan Parishad Adhiniyam, 1987. Yadav was working at Damoh’s Mission Hospital in January through a Bhopal-based staffing agency registered under the state government. After six weeks he fled the Mission Hospital with an ECG machine worth over Rs 5 lakh. Hospital officials told BOOM that a complaint for theft was then lodged at Damoh Kotwali Police Station. Yadav claimed to be an interventionist cardiologist from Klinikum Nuremberg Hospital in Germany and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. However, BOOM contacted Germany’s Klinikum Nürnberg Hospital, who confirmed that Narendra Yadav, who posed as ‘Dr. N John Camm’ in India, has never been employed or associated with the hospital.

Several news reports from May 2019 state that Dr. Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, chairman of Braunwald Hospitals was arrested by the Rachakonda police (Telangana) from Chennai based on a cheating case filed by his employees. According to parliamentary records, India’s medical authorities banned him for five years for professional misconduct, in 2014. Former Assembly Speaker Rajendra Prasad Shukla, a Congress MLA from Kota Assembly constituency in Bilaspur, died in 2006 after receiving treatment at Apollo Hospital. His heart surgery was performed by Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, a man posing as a doctor who claimed to have returned from London, and who is now known as Dr. Narendra John Kam.

In July 2023, BOOM fact-checked the Twitter handle @njohncamm claiming to be Professor N. John Camm had tweeted, "India must send @myogiadityanath to France to control the riot situation there and My God, he will do it within 24 hours." The tweet went viral among Indian right-wing users and was quote-tweeted by the verified handle of the UP Chief Minister's office. BOOM found out he was actually Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, an Indian with a controversial medical past. The real Professor A John Camm, an emeritus cardiologist from St. George’s University of London, denied any connection and told BOOM via email, “This guy is stealing my identity.” When BOOM confronted Yadav with this, he lashed out, calling the real professor an “idiot” and added, “No one told him my full name.” BOOM further investigated the website njohncamm.com, which claimed prestigious UK medical credentials, was registered under Narendra Yadav’s name and email. The site’s content contained grammatical errors, false affiliations, and even plagiarized material from medical journals. BOOM also found that neither “N John Camm” nor “Narendra John Camm” were listed as members of the British Cardiovascular Society, contradicting the claims made on the website.
