IUML

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), is a political party with its primary base in Kerala. This party is recognized as a State Party by the Election Commission of India, it was established in the aftermath of India’s partition. IUML is a significant member of the United Democratic Front, an INC-led pre-poll state level alliance in Kerala. The party has maintained a consistent presence in the Indian Parliament and has been a part of the national political landscape. Currently, IUML has representation in both the houses of the Indian Parliament and holds seats in the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

In April 2024, BOOM came across a fake news being widely spread, that Pakistan’s flags were waved at a Congress rally.

We found that the photo was from 2019 and shows flags of IUML, not Pakistan. We ran a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google and found a report by The New Indian Express published on April 5, 2019. The photo in that report was attributed to A Sanesh, whose X bio states that he is the Principal Photographer at The New Indian Express.
