Chitra Tripathi

Chitra Tripathi, 37, is a news reporter and anchor and has worked in various news channels. Her career includes roles at Sahara India, India News, News24, ABP News and Aaj Tak. She has hosted political shows like “Kaun Banega Rashtrapati”, “2019 Kaun Jeetega” and “Modi Ke 4 Saal” as an anchor. Chitra has covered events like the Kashmir conflict, which led to her receiving the Ramnath Goenka Award in 2015. Later she also became the Deputy Editor at Aaj Tak.

In March 2024, BOOM fact checked a video of Chitra predicting Congess’s win in ongoing Lok Sabha Elections.

We found a viral video with a fake audio of Chitra and fake survey of News24 which predicts Congress wins Lok Sabha Election. The viral video which was being widely shared was from July 2023 debate show hosted by Chitra and in that fake video she was saying that “as per the survey of News24, I.N.D.I. Alliance has 80% chances of winning and N.D.A. was limited to 14%”. She was not talking about any survey, but was responding to panelist Manojit Mandal after he accused Aaj Tak of not reporting on the ethnic violence in Manipur.
