Arun Jaitley was an Indian politician, lawyer, and senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He served as the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs in the Government of India from 2014 to 2019, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first term. Jaitley was a key figure in shaping India's economic policies, particularly the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the implementation of demonetization in 2016.
Born on December 28, 1952, Jaitley was a lawyer by profession and played a prominent role in Indian politics for several decades.
