Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar, born on September 9, 1967, is an Indian actor and film producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. With a career spanning over 30 years and over 100 films, Kumar has received numerous awards, including two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. He gained prominence in the 1990s as an action star with films like "Khiladi" (1992) and diversified his roles over the years, excelling in romantic, comedic, and negative roles. His career saw a resurgence in the late 2000s, with critical acclaim for films like "Special 26" (2013) and "Rustom" (2016), for which he won the National Film Award for Best Actor. Kumar is also known for producing socially relevant films like "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" (2017) and "Pad Man" (2018). In addition to acting, he has worked as a stunt actor and hosted television shows like "Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi." Kumar is actively involved in philanthropy and is a prominent brand endorser in India.

BOOM debunked two misleading videos involving Kumar, one of which falsely claimed that Kumar expressed support for former Pakistan PM Imran Khan after his arrest. However, BOOM found it to be an altered video overlaying different audios onto Kumar's original video of a smartwatch advertisement.

The second video, an old clip of Kumar condemning incidents of women being molested in Bengaluru in 2017, resurfaced with misleading captions linking it to the Manipur violence.
