Madhu Kishwar

Madhu Kishwar, born on January 1, 1951, in New Delhi, India, is an Indian academic, writer, and social activist known for her work on women's rights, politics, and social justice. Kishwar founded Manushi, a journal for feminist activism and research, in 1978, focusing on issues related to gender equality, cultural traditions, and governance reforms. Over the years, she has advocated for changes in laws concerning women’s rights, labor rights, and governance, presenting alternative perspectives on Indian traditions and social practices.

Kishwar’s work has often intersected with politics, civil rights, and freedom of expression, making her a prominent figure in intellectual and activist circles. In recent years, she has been recognized for her strong support of right-wing ideologies and Hindu nationalist causes. Kishwar is known for her outspoken views on political and social issues, often sparking debates about religious identity, media narratives, and governance.
