        Demand for fossil fuels to be wiped out due to COVID-19: IEA

        The International Energy Agency (IEA) has said that the world is seeing its biggest energy shock in 70 years, adding that the pandemic would see multi-decade lows for coal, oil and gas. Only renewable energy sources would continue to grow. The IEA estimates that the use of renewable energy will grow 5% this year.

        Rajasthan reports 86 new cases

        The state of Rajasthan reported 86 news cases and 2 news deaths related to COVID-19, according to a morning bulletin by the state's health department. This brings the state's tally to 2524 cases, andd 24 deaths. 827 people have recovered till date.

        Cases In India Crosses The 33,000 Mark

        Latest data from the Ministry and Health and Family Welfare shows that cases in India have crossed the 33,000 mark, with 33,050 cases. This presents an increase of 1,718 cases over its last update on April 29. The number of death reported is 1074, an increase of 66 deaths over its last update. This tally is inclusive of 8325 recoveries.

        Colleges To Start From August, September: UGC

        The University Grants Commission has come out with its academic calendar for 2020-21. The new academic session for old students will commence from August 1, 2020 while the academic session for new admissions will only begin from September 1, 2020. 

        The pending examinations will be held between July and August, 2020

        Airports Authority Of India Issues Guidelines For Post-Lockdown Operations

        The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on April 29, 2020, issued detailed guidelines to its airports for managing post lockdown operations/ The guidelines imposes several restrictions, including on the number of terminals as well as on retail outlets providing food and beverages that would come into effect from May 4, 2020.

        India Reports 1,813 New Cases, 71 Deaths In The Last 24 hours

        India reported a total of 31,787 COVID-19 cases, and 1,008 deaths according to the Ministry Of Health And Family Planning. This includes 22,982 active cases, out of which 7,797 cured/discharged and 1 migrated.
