6 May 2020 3:12 PM ISTThe Indian Railways have announced that it has run 115 Shramik Special trains since May 1 and has ferried over one lakh migrants across India. According to PTI, as of Tuesday morning, 35 trains have originated from Gujarat while 13 trains have been run from Kerala. Bihar has received 13 trains, with 11 more currently on their way and six more planned.
Uttar Pradesh has received 10 with five more are on their way and 12 more planned. PTI also reports that the West Bengal government has given clearance to only two trains -- one each from Rajasthan and Kerala. Jharkhand has received four trains, while five are on their way to the state. Two more Shramik Special trains have been planned. Odisha has received seven trains and five are on their way to the state, with one more planned.
