        Eight Month Old In JK Is Youngest COVID-19 Positive Case

        An eight-month-old Srinagar tested positive making it the youngest case in India. The infant and her 7-year-old sister tested positive and are grandchildren of the woman who travelled from Saudi Arabia and tested positive on March 24.

        Enough Doomsday Naysayers: R Gangakhedkar, ICMR

        In a press conference held by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. R. Gangakhedkar representing the Indian Council of Medical Research when asked if the models that universities abroad have published hold merit, stated that these models are based on assumptions. The studies reflect India with a high number of cases to which Dr. Gangakhedkhar retorted saying there are enough people wishing for Doomsday. 

        When asked further that the universities stated that India was testing lesser samples, Dr. Gangakhedkar said that as India was testing enough for stage two and had changed the criteria for testing.

        FM Announces PM Garib Kalyan Scheme

        Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a 1.7 lakh crore financial package to tackle COVID-19. 

        Among this package, the first one for food security, called Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, where 80 crores poor of our population (2/3rds of population), each one will get 5 kg, each month, for the next 3 months, in addition to the 5 kgs they already take via PDS of wheat or rice. Besides, 1 kg of pulse (regional preferences) will be given per household. This can be taken in two installments.

        A total of 800 people who came in contact with a mohalla clinic doctor who tested positive in Delhi, have been quarantined for 14 days, said Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.

        States Report Newer Cases, Deaths

        After the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 649 cases, many states in the country reported newer cases. 

        Gujarat reported 6 new cases taking the total number of cases to 43 while Maharashtra has reported two new cases taking the state's count to 124. 

        Lucknow reported two new cases taking UP's number of positive cases to over 40. 

        Gujarat, Srinagar, Maharashtra reported new deaths.

        India Reports 43 New Cases, 3 New Deaths

        The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported that India had 649 positive cases and 13 deaths at 10:00 AM on March 26, 2020. The country has reported 43 new case and three new deaths since the last update on March 25, 2020. 

        Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh reported new deaths while Goa reported its first three cases.

        Kerala inched to 118 cases while the Centre first reported that Maharashtra has 128 cases and later changed them to 124.
