The Union Health Ministry in the daily address to the press has stated that the PM's Citizen Assistance and Relief Emergency Situation Funds (CARES) is helping tackle the rehabilitation and relief services.

For migrants, the responsibility has moved to the States wherein through the State Disaster Response Fund they will have to provide food and shelter to the labourers and workplaces should not deduct wages of workers.

Moreover, those migrants that have already moved, they will be quarantined at district or state borders for 14 days.

Center Asks States To Look After Migrants

The Center has directed States to ensure that there is no movement of people across cities.

The States have to make all arrangements for migrant labourers to continue staying at their place of work along with receiving timely payment of wages.

Action would be taken against those asking students/labourers to vacate premises during the lockdown.

This directive comes after labourers started walking towards their respective home towns from the cities that they were working in. UP and Delhi started state buses to ferry the migrant workers which led to Anand Vihar bus terminal being overcrowded.

A migrant worker who set out on foot from Delhi to Morena in Madhya Pradesh, collapsed on the Delhi-Agra Highway.
