        The Ayushmann Bharat beneficiaries are eligible for free COVID-19 testing at empanelled hospitals.

        Special COVID-19 Clinics In Mumbai

        Bruhanmumbai Municipal Corporaton has announced that they will initiate special COVID-19 clinics in zones with isolation wards and high number of cases. A doctor and a para-medic will be available at these clinics.

        Tamil Nadu Reports 74 New Cases

        Tamil Nadu has reported 74 new cases. With this increase, the state's total number of cases have increased to 485.

        Karnataka, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh Report New Cases

        Karanataka has reported 16 new cases taking the state's total to 144, Haryana has reported 18 new cases and has so far confirmed 48 active cases, Uttarakhand confirmed six new cases taking the total to 22 cases in the state. 

        Uttar Pradesh has crossed 200 cases making it the only state after Delhi, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu to report more than 200 cases.

        ICMR Permits Testing By Other Organizations

        The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved COVID-19 testing by other organizations such as Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

        The ICMR will however not provide kits to these organizations. The laboratory test should be only offered when the sample is referred by the State health officials or State Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.

        The Union Home Ministry has allocated Rs. 11,092 crores to all the states under the States Disaster Risk Management Fund. Maharashtra has received 1611 crore rupees as it has the highest number of cases.

        Jamaat Cases Found In 17 States

        The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in a press conference stated that from the 2,902 positive cases in the country, 1,023 cases were from the Tablighi Jamaat Congregation and were found in 17 states in the country.

        Multiple States Report New Cases

        Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Goa have reported new cases of COVID-19. 

        Maharashtra has reched 537 cases after reporting 47 new cases while Rajasthan reported new cases taking the total to 196. 

        Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have 164 cases each. 

        Gujarat now has 105 cases, Jammu and Kashmir has 78 cases, Haryana has 56 cases, Assam has 25, and Goa has 7 cases.
