        ICMR Study Favours Social Distancing

        According to a study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research, social distancing is favourable because the spread of the coronavirus and the probability of one infected person infecting others is between 1.5-4. 

        If the lockdown measures are not followed, an infected person could infect around 406 people in a month according to the estimates by the ICMR

        MOHFW Initiates Three Types Of Centres For Containment Strategies

        The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released a document outlining the care three pronged approach that the government is following for efficient management of COVID-19. 

        Following the two methods of cluster containment and outbreak management, the government has finalized three types of institutions to tackle COVID-19. 

        The three institutions: 

        1. COVID Care Centres for mild and suspected cases. They could be hostels, schools, hotels, stadiums. 

        2. Dedicated COVID health clinics for clinically moderate cases. They should have beds that could be connected to oxygen supplies. 

        3, Dedicated COVID hospitals for critical cases with equipped ICUs and ventilators

        According to news wire agency, ANI, All India Medical Institute of Sciences is providing only 5 N95 masks to doctors, nurses, medical staff, security and maintenance staff for a span of 20 days.

        Kerala CM Writes To Delhi CM For Welfare Of Nurses

        Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday urged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to take protective measures to ensure the safety of nurses from the state who have tested positive for the coronavirus in the national capital.

        "Unfortunately we are now hearing the news that some nurses have tested positive for the COVID-19 in Delhi. I would like to draw your attention to a situation which has been reported to us regarding the plight of nurses in Delhi," Vijayan wrote in the letter.

        In the letter, Kerala chief minister further requested for immediate action for the health workers treating COVID-19 patients.
