Video Of Sanjay Dutt Calling Out ‘Saffronisation’ Is A Deepfake
The original video contains no such remarks by Sanjay Dutt, and an AI-detection tool flagged the viral audio as likely synthetic.

A deepfake video of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is being shared on social media, falsely claiming that he criticised the “saffronisation” of government institutions, spoke against the treatment of Muslims in India, and said that the people of Kashmir should decide their own future.
BOOM found that the audio has been cloned and used in the video. The remarks heard in the viral video do not appear in Dutt’s original video, where he appeared on actor Shekhar Suman’s show 'Shekhar Tonite'.
Dutt had appeared on the Gandhi Jayanti special episode of Shekhar Tonite, where he remarked that he “doesn’t feel peace in India anymore.” He later clarified that the segment was scripted and intended to be humorous.
The Claim:
In the viral video, Dutt is purportedly heard saying that he would not allow Muslims to face the discrimination his mother (actor Nargis Dutt) faced for being a Muslim. He also purportedly says the army is of the country and not a color while criticising the alleged saffronisation of institutions.
