An unrelated video of an Indian man being thrashed by trans women in Thailand has surfaced with claims misidentifying him as Indian Army Lt Gen Rajiv Kinar Sahni.
BOOM found that the man was identified as a 52-year-old Indian national, Raj Jasuja, who was involved in a violent fight with trans women in Pattaya over payment for sexual services.
The Claim:
The video, appearing as a news clipping by the Times of India, was posted by X handle @ThokaReturns. BOOM has previously fact-checked the X handle for posting deepfakes and false claims about Indian defence personnel. The video was also shared by other handles with claims misidentifying the man as Pakistan Army General Faisal Naseer.
What we found:
1) Video Shows Indian Man Beaten - BOOM ran a reverse image search on the keyframes of the of the video and found that it is from December 27, 2026.
We also found that the video appearing to show it is part of a Times of India news clipping is fake.
In the original Times of India report the accused is identified as a 52-year-old Indian national, Raj Jasuja. According to reports, the Indian tourist was assaulted by a group of transgender sex workers in Pattaya’s Walking Street after he allegedly refused to pay for sexual services. Jasuja had sustained injuries on his face and the back of his head.
Thai news outlet Thaigar also reported on the incident.
