No, These Images Dont Show Kanhaiya Double Voting In Delhi And Bihar

An old photo of Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar visiting a polling booth in North East Delhi on May 25, 2024, when he was contesting the Lok Sabha election, is being shared on social media with the false claim that he had voted in Delhi and has now voted again in the Bihar Assembly election.

On November 6, 2025, the first phase of voting was held in Bihar. The second phase is scheduled on November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14. Kumar had tweeted a photo of him voting in the first phase at his home town in Bihar's Begusarai.

The Claim: Photos show Kumar voting earlier in Delhi and now in Bihar

A set of two photos were posted by the X handle '@MrSinha_' with the caption, "This fool Kanhaiya voted in Delhi earlier, and now he’s voted again in Bihar today…"

      What We Found

      1) 2024 Photo From Candidate Kumar’s Visit To Polling Booths In Delhi

The viral image of Kanhaiya Kumar was posted by him on May 25, 2024, with the caption, "Visited the booths of Timarpur with the honorable MLA @dilipkpandey ji. Very positive signs are emerging. Despite the heat and long queues, there is tremendous enthusiasm among the public to cast their votes. Today, it is the public's turn to speak their mind."

pic.twitter.com/16MisGvFzp

Kumar, who was the Congress candidate from the North East Delhi constituency, was visiting polling booths as part of the campaign, and not to cast his vote. Under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, a candidate must be enrolled in an electoral roll but need not be a registered voter within the same constituency they contest from.

      2) Kumar previous voting in Begusarai

Kumar has previously cast his vote from Begusarai in both the 2024 Lok Sabha and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. We found visuals of him voting at his home town posted by news outlets and Kumar himself.

      2024 Lok Sabha election:

      2019 Lok Sabha election:

🙏 pic.twitter.com/C97PfF9e72

      3) MyNeta shows Kumar’s enrolled constituency In Bihar

We also checked Kumar’s voter enrollment details on MyNeta, an online platform run by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). MyNeta publishes affidavits submitted by candidates to the Election Commission of India (ECI)

According to the details listed when he was running during the 2024 Lok Sabha election, Kumar's name is enrolled as voter in - 143 Teghra (Bihar) constituency, at Serial no 612 in Part no 228.
