Maharashtra Crosses 10,000 Cases
With 583 new cases and 27 new deaths, Maharashtra has reported over 10,498 cases and 459 deaths.
Mumbai reported 20 deaths taking the total number of deaths in the city to 290, Pune reported 3 taking the number of deaths to 96, Thane reported 2, Nagpur and Raigad reported 1 each.

Bengal To Borrow PCR Machines From State Unis
The West Bengal government has decided to borrow 'real-time polymerase chain reaction' (RT-PCR) machines which can help in the detection and study of novel coronavirus from three-state-run universities.
BEThe RT-PCR machines, with the help of a nuclear energy-driven method, can trace specific genetic material from any pathogen, including a virus, Dr Abhijit Chowdhury, member of a state-constituted task force on COVID-19, said.
Driving License Enough For Truck Drivers: MHA

560 New Cases Across The Country
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has reported 560 new cases across the country taking the total number of cases to 33,610 as of 5 PM, April 30.
Karnataka To Allow Movement Between States
Karnataka Law Minister JC Madhuswamy was quoted saying "For once, if someone residing in Karnataka wants to move to another state, they will be allowed and someone who wants to come back from another state will be allowed."
The entry of people into the state will be screened and there have beeno specification on public transport facilities.
Health Ministry Updates Statistics
In the last 24 hours, India reported 1,718 new cases.
The recovery rate in India is at 25.8% Case fatality is 3.2% whereas 65% are males and 35% females
14% deaths are younger than 45 years of age, 34.8% are between 45-60, 51.2% are greater than 60. The 60-75 age group has recorded 42%, deaths and greater than 75 years of age have reported 9.2% disorders
78% of the deaths were due to other co-morbidities. The country's doubling rate is now 11 days.
Many states are performing better than the country in terms of doubling rate. States such as Delhi, UP, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Rajasthan, Punjab have a doubling rate of 11-20 days
States such as Karnataka, Ladakh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Kerala have a doubling rate of 20-40 days.
States such as Assam, Telangana, Chattisgarh,Himachal Pradesh have a doubling rate of more than 40 days.
The Union Ministry has also asked that patients suffering from thalassemia, haemophilia, sickle cell anaemia be permitted to carry out their blood transfusion activities smoothly
