New Cases Reported In Delhi And UP

Sanjeeva Kumar, Special Secretary (Health), Union Health Ministry reported that the government has confirmed 42 cases of COVID-19 with one new case confirmed in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. 

Details of the two patients are awaited. The Union health ministry has not confirmed the three year old baby while the Kerala government has confirmed the case.

J&K Confirms First Positive Case

A 63-year-old woman tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir, making her the first confirmed case in the state, officials said on Monday.

The woman, who had a travel history to Iran, was among two patients who were declared "high viral load cases" by the administration on the weekend. They are undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital and are in a stable condition, the officials said.

A three year old baby from Kerala with travel history to Italy tested positive and is in Ernakulam Medical College

Kerala Confirms 5 New Cases

Five more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 39 in India.

Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja on Sunday said five new positive patients had been admitted in the isolation wards. "Three people recently returned from Italy, due to which two more got the disease here in Pathanamthitta district," she added.

The earliest 3 cases of COVID-19 were also from Kerala and were successfully discharged after recovery.

India's Confirmed Case Count Reaches 34

Special Secretary Health, Union Health Ministry, Sanjeeva Kumar stated that three more cases have tested positive taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in India to 34.

Two of these are from Ladakh with travel history from Iran and the remaining is from Tamil Nadu with travel history from Oman. 

All the cases are under isolation and are stable.

Catholic Archdiocese of Bombay issues advisory to fight Coronavirus

The Catholic Archdiocese of Bombay issued new guidelines for religious services on March 5, 2020, in the wake of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The advisory encourages congregation members not to offer the 'sign of peace' by shaking hands during the mass, and instead to greet each other with folded hands (namaste). It also states that the holy communion which is distributed to Catholics at the end of mass should be received in hand instead of being placed in the mouth while receiving it.

The circular issued by Archbishop Oswald Gracias to parish priests of the 122 churches that fall within the diocese. This comes in the run-up to Easter which is on April 12, 2020, as Christians observe Lent which is is a solemn religious observance during which they commit to praying, fasting and attending mass.

Kuwait decided to stop air travel with Egypt, Phillippines,Syria, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India from March 6 for one week. People having been in these countries for 2 weeks or longer have been prohibited to enter Kuwait according to the DGCA.
