Will Scale Down Containment If No Positive Cases Found In 4 Weeks: Govt
According to a notification by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, containment operation will deemed to be over if no new positive cases are reported for 4 weeks from the discharge of the last confirmed case.
Man Without Travel History Tests Positive In Punjab
A 42-year old man without an travel history has tested positive in Punjab. Two of his labourers had met people who had returned from Nizamuddin Markaz in March.

34 new cases in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh state health officials have reported 34 news cases in the state, bringing the total case count in the state up to 226.
Two COVID-19 deaths in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu State health officials have reported two deaths caused by COVID-19 - of a 60-year old and of a 70-year old patient. This brings the state's death toll to 5.
India's Cases At 3374, Deaths At 77
Latest data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare shows India's reported cases are at 3374, up 302 cases from 3072 cases reported from April 4. The death toll is at 77.
Maharashtra, Telangana Report New Cases
Maharashtra reported 145 new cases of which only seven are from the Tablighi Jamaat congregation and six new deaths taking the state's total case count to 635 and 32 deaths.
Telangana reported 43 new cases taking the state total to 272.

The Indian Council of Medical Research is participating in the World Health Organization's "public health emergency SOLIDARITY TRIAL – An international randomised trial of additional treatments for COVID-19 in hospitalised patients”
41.88% Cases Between The Age Group Of 21 To 40 Years
The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded so far, the age group between 21 to 40 years accounts for the most number of cases at 41.8% according to the Ministry of Health And Family Welfare.
The age profile analysis of all the positive cases being reported are as follows according to the Ministry:
8.61% cases is between 0-20 years
41.88% cases is between 21 to 40 years
32.82% cases is between 41 to 60 years
16.69% cases above 60 year

India Reports 170 New Cases, 7 New Deaths
India has reported 170 new cases and seven new deaths in ten hours taking the country's total cases to 3072 cases and deaths to 75 as of 6 PM on April 4, 2020. The Ministry also reporte that 213 people have recovered from COVID-19
Maharashtra with 24 deaths and 490 cases has the highest number of deaths and cases in the country. Gujarat reported its tenth death as the state crossed 100 cases.
Maharashtra is followed by Delhi at 445 cases, Tamil Nadu at 411 cases, Kerala at 295 cases, and Rajasthan at 200. Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh,Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh Pradesh have over 100 cases of COVID-19.
