COVID-19: Madhya Pradesh Farmers Dump Vegetables On Roads
Farmers talk to BOOM about the fear that their families will starve due to the economic loss they have faced in the lockdown.
Local farmers in Nandarwada village in Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad district have been dumping tomatoes on the road. Hundreds of kilos of tomatoes, all rotten. Due to fear of the Coronavirus pandemic, neighbouring villages have refused to buy tomatoes from the villages that grow them. When the crop was harvested and ready to be sold, the lockdown was imposed. This cut off farmers' access to other markets as well. Here's more:
