Pramod Sawant is an Indian politician currently serving as the Chief Minister of Goa. Born on April 24, 1973, in the village of Sanquelim, Goa, he is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and succeeded the late Manohar Parrikar as Chief Minister in 2019. Sawant holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda, Medicine, and Surgery from the Ganga Education Society's Ayurvedic Medical College in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, and a Master’s degree in Social Work.

In May 2020, BOOM debunked a viral social media post where Tripura CM Biplab Deb wished Goa a happy Statehood Day using an image purportedly showing Goa’s picturesque landscapes.

However, BOOM traced the image back to the Bora Bora islands, exposing the post’s inaccuracy and highlighting the use of unrelated visuals in official communications. BOOM’s findings emphasized the need for caution and authenticity in public figures' posts.
