Nitin Gadkari born on May 27, 1957 in Nagpur, is an Indian politician. He currently serves as a Minister for Road Transport & Highways and has been in office since May 2014. His tenure in politics spans several decades, with significant contributions to infrastructure development and social welfare. Gadkari began his political journey during the Emergency period in the 1970s aligning closely with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). His educational background includes a Post-Graduation in Commerce, a Bachelor of Laws and a Diploma in Business Management.

In March 2024, BOOM came across a false viral video which claimed, “Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is calling out his own government”.

The viral clip was shared by the Indian National Congress (INC) party, with the intention to mislead the people. We found that the video had been shared out of context, and that in the original interview to The Lallantop, Gadkari talks about the situation since independence, and then goes on to discuss the work done by the Bharatiya Janata Party to improve it. The latter part of his statement was cropped out by Congress' post, thus taking Gadkari's statement out of context.

Another false news related to Gadkari was debunked by BOOM in March 2023.

Facebook and X users shared an altered image, claiming that “Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal apologizing to Nitin Gadkari”. We found that the photo was from 2014 when Arvind Kejriwal met Nitin Gadkari to discuss the regularization of e-rickshaws. It was being widely shared to mislead the people.
