Manohar Lal Khattar, born on May 5, 1954 in Nindana village of Rohtak district, is an Indian politician. His early life was marked by the aftermath of the partition, as his family migrated from West Punjab to India in 1947 and settled in Rohtak district. Khattar began his political journey with his association with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1977. In 1994, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and served as the Organizational General Secretary of the BJP in Haryana from 2000 to 2014. In 2014, Khattar was elected as the Member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from the Karnal constituency and he also took oath as the 10th Chief Minister of Haryana in the same year, a position that he held until his resignation on March 12 2024.

In March 2024, BOOM came across a false video showing Khattar crying following his resignation from the chief ministerial position in Haryana.

We found that the video clip which was being circulated was old and unrelated to Khattar's recent resignation from the position of Haryana chief minister. We ran a related keyword search in Hindi and found Live Hindustan's YouTube channel had shared a longer version of the video, with a Hindi caption that translates to, "Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar was seen crying in the assembly during the budget session."

Another misleading information related to Khattar was debunked by BOOM in March 2021.

A photo shows Manohar Lal Khattar and Bhupinder Singh Hooda smiling after the no-confidence motion was defeated. We found that the viral photo was from November 2019 and is not from the day when the no-confidence motion was defeated in the Haryana assembly. It was being shared widely to mislead the people.
