Mallika Sherawat, born as Reema Lamba, is an Indian actress who primarily works in Bollywood or Hindi Film Industry. We found that the viral video was from the year 2013 and this video was going viral now in the context of the recent gang-rape of a Spanish tourist in Jharkhand. While busting this fake news, BOOM found the original video from 2013, when she was addressing the press for the Indian reality show, The Bachelorette India. Mallika was being asked by a reporter about her previous comments at the Cannes Film Festival, where she allegedly said that India is 'regressive and depressing.' Later when she was asked ‘why she has come to India even after terming it as 'regressive and depressing' on an international platform’. She immediately clarified that she said, "Indian society is regressive for women."
