The Karnataka Assembly elections 2024 have seen a significant political contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC). The INC, under the leadership of D.K. In April 2018, BOOM came across a false claim suggesting that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah flew to Pakistan for a one-day trip.

BOOM found that the claims were baseless. Siddaramaiah's personal assistant confirmed that he was actually in Delhi between April 11 to April 13, attending meetings with Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi. The misinformation was circulated widely to mislead the public.
