Japan, an island nation located in East Asia, is known for its rich cultural heritage, advanced technology, and dynamic economy. Made up of four main islands—Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku—it is characterized by a unique blend of traditional culture and modern innovation. Tokyo, its capital, is among the world’s largest and most technologically advanced cities, representing Japan's economic power and cultural influence.

Japan’s history spans from ancient samurai traditions and feudalism to rapid modernization in the 19th century during the Meiji Restoration. Today, it remains a global leader in technology, automobiles, robotics, and electronics, with a strong focus on research and innovation. Culturally, Japan is known for its art forms like kabuki theater, tea ceremonies, ikebana (flower arrangement), and manga and anime which have achieved worldwide popularity.

Japan has a constitutional monarchy with an Emperor who holds a symbolic position, while the government operates as a parliamentary democracy. The Prime Minister serves as the head of the government, overseeing the country's political administration. Japan has been governed predominantly by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) since the mid-20th century, reflecting its stability and economic growth. In recent years, Japan has strengthened its diplomatic ties with countries like India, the United States, and members of the G7 and G20, focusing on economic, defense, and technological collaborations.

Japan and India have a strong bilateral relationship, marked by economic cooperation, infrastructure development, and strategic partnerships. Japan has been one of the largest investors in India, contributing to various infrastructure projects, including the Delhi Metro, Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR), and initiatives in renewable energy, skill development, and manufacturing.
