ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) is India’s national space agency, responsible for the country's space exploration, satellite deployment, and scientific research programs. In July 2019, BOOM investigated a viral image falsely claimed to show a religious ceremony performed before the launch of Chandrayaan 2.

BOOM found that the image was actually from September 2013, depicting a religious ceremony held before the second test launch of the Agni-V missile, not Chandrayaan 2.
