Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson is a British politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from July 2019 to September 2022. He is a member of the Conservative Party and has had a long and colorful career in British politics, journalism, and public life. Born on June 19, 1964, in New York City, Johnson was educated at Eton College and later at Balliol College, Oxford, where he studied Classics.

Before becoming Prime Minister, Boris Johnson was the Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016, where he was known for his efforts to improve the city's infrastructure, including the introduction of the "Boris Bikes" bike-sharing scheme. He also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and later for Uxbridge and South Ruislip starting in 2015.

Johnson was a key figure in the 2016 Brexit referendum campaign, advocating for the UK's departure from the European Union. His leadership in the Leave campaign was instrumental in the eventual success of the referendum, which led to his rise within the Conservative Party. In July 2019, he became the leader of the Conservative Party and was appointed Prime Minister, succeeding Theresa May.
