The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is a National political party in India. Founded in 1980, it is the largest political party in India and the world's largest party in terms of primary membership. The BJP has been the ruling party in India since 2014 and is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 6 April 1980, the BJP was officially founded, and its first president was Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Since then, the party has grown to become the largest political party in India, with a presence in all 29 states and seven union territories. The BJP has its headquarters in New Delhi, and its president is Jagat Prakash Nadda. The party has a youth wing, the BJP Yuva Morcha, and a women's wing, the BJP Mahila Morcha.
