The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is a regional political party in India founded in 1927 and based in Hyderabad, Telangana. The party was initially formed to advocate for the social, economic, and educational rights of Muslims in Hyderabad. Over the years, AIMIM has evolved into a broader political force, aiming to represent not just Muslims but also other marginalized communities, including Dalits and backward classes.

Led by Asaduddin Owaisi, who has been its president since 2008, AIMIM has gained prominence for its strong stance on issues affecting minorities and its advocacy for secularism, social justice, and equal rights. The party's headquarters, Darussalam, is located in Hyderabad, which is also its political stronghold. AIMIM has consistently won seats in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Telangana Legislative Assembly, with Asaduddin Owaisi serving as a Member of Parliament from the Hyderabad constituency since 2004.

In recent years, AIMIM has expanded its political presence beyond Telangana, contesting elections in states like Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The party focuses on issues such as education, healthcare, employment, and housing for minorities and economically weaker sections. Its manifesto often emphasizes welfare schemes, affordable housing, and measures to prevent communal violence.

AIMIM has been both praised and criticized for its vocal stance on sensitive national issues, including citizenship laws, religious freedom, and secularism. While it has been a voice for the rights of Muslims and other marginalized groups, it has also faced accusations of communal politics. In November 2020, BOOM fact-checked a viral screenshot of a tweet claiming an alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and AIMIM for the West Bengal elections.
