      On April 5, 2024, BOOM Live travelled to Guwahati for its first-ever offline event in the north-east. The event titled “Fact-Checking Mel” served as an occasion for the launch of the North East Facts Network, an initiative to strengthen fact-checking efforts in the region

      BOOM has conducted offline workshops on media literacy and fact-checking for journalists and journalism students in 5 different cities in the north-east: Siliguri, Guwahati, Dimapur, Agartala and Gangtok.

BOOM is one of India’s first and leading fact-checking websites and initiative, committed to provide readers with journalistically verified facts. BOOM was one of the first Indian members of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and also the first to partner with Facebook on its Third Party Fact Checking Programme from India. Besides fact-checks and verification, BOOM also conducts Media Literacy Training and Workshops for all ages.
