        Maharashtra Health Minister: 26 Positive Patients In The State

        Maharashtra Health Minister, Rajesh Tope on March 14, 2020, said that the total number of patients tested positive for COVID-19 had reached 26 in the state.

        The 26 cases are as follows - Pune: 10, Mumbai: 5, Kamothe: 1, Kalyan: 1, Nagpur: 4, Nagar: 1, Yavatmal: 2, Thane: 1, Navi Mumbai: 1

        All schools in urban areas of Maharashtra (all government and private schools in jurisdiction of Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Palika, Mahanagar palika) to remain closed till 31st March 2020. Only exams for class 10th, 12th, & University exams will be held as per schedule reported ANI.

        Goa Shuts Schools, Colleges, Discos Till March 31,2020

        The Goa government has officially shut down schools, colleges, boat cruises, disco clubs, and casinos in the state till March 31, 2020, amid the rising COVID-19 outbreak in the country, said Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on March 14, 2020. However, malls, restaurants, and hotels will remain open, Sawant said, adding that the directions for closure were only meant for places where people gather in closed premises reported IANS.31, 2020

        Ministry of Home Affairs Declares "Notified Disaster" For COVID-19

        The Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday decided to treat Covid-19 as a "notified disaster". The move is done for providing assistance under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Ex gratia relief of Rs 4 lakhs would be provided to kin of families who died of COVID-19, and cost of hospitalisation for managing patients as fixed by State government.

        Two Test Positive In J&K

        The Jammu and Kashmir administration on March 13, 2020, said that 159 persons have completed their 28-day surveillance period and, so far, only two cases have been tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir reported IANS.

        India Records 84 Cases: Health Ministry

        The number of coronavirus positive cases in the country has risen to 84, the Health Ministry and Family Welfare reported on March 14, 2020. "Seven persons, who tested positive, including five from Uttar Pradesh and one each from Rajasthan and Delhi have been discharged after treatment," a senior health ministry official said reported PTI.

        A new born baby tested positive in London minutes after being born. The mother tested positive after giving birth and thus the doctors decided to test the child, too.

        Tihar Jail Sets Up Isolation Ward

        Authorities at Delhi’s Tihar Jail are screening inmates for coronavirus and have set up an isolation ward inside the prison, news agency ANI reported on Saturday.

        “All inmates have been checked and not displayed symptoms. New inmates are being screened and will be kept in different wards for three days,” a jail official was quoted as saying by ANI.

        Reports said also said the inmates have been informed about coronavirus symptoms and the precautions to be taken, including washing hands and avoiding physical contact with others.

        There are around 17,500 inmates lodged at the jail at present.

        Hide And Seek In Nagpur

        The paranoia of contracting COVID-19 led to four suspects at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Mayo Clinic, Nagpur running away and later being tracked by Nagpur police. 

        The four people were sharing a washroom with the person who was confimed to have tested positive for the virus.
