        Germany Conducts Indoor Concert To Study Spread Of COVID-19

        Scientists in Germany held three indoor pop concerts with 1500 participants to investigate the spread of COVID-19 in the country. 

        The first concert aimed to imitate an event before the pandemic and did not follow safety precautions. The second involved greater hygiene and some social distancing, while the third involved half the numbers and each person standing 1.5m apart.

        The concert study, called Restart-19, was created "to investigate the conditions under which such events can be carried out despite the pandemic", researchers said.

        Child In Brazil Died Due To COVID-19 Cardiac Complications

        An 11-year-old girl in Brazil developed multiple system inflammatory syndrome and eventually a cardiac failure after being diagnosed with COVID-19, according to a case-study published in the Lancet. It is the first report that shows presence of SARS-CoV-2 in the cardiac tissue of children. 

        The child had no other health issues prior to COVID-19, said the authors of the study.

        India Crosses Three Million Mark

        India reported 69,239 new cases to reach a total tally of 30,44,940 cases in the last 24 hours. The current death toll stands at 56,706. 

        Over 22,80,566 people have recovered, while 7,07,668 are still being treated in the country.

        Don't Restrict Inter-state Movement Of Goods, People During Unlock 3.0: Centre To States

        The central government has asked all states to not restrict inter and intra-state movement of people and goods during the ongoing unlocking process, reports PTI. In a communique to chief secretaries of all states, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said restrictions are impacting supply chains resulting in disruption of economic activity and employment.

        India Reports Highest One-day Rise In New COVID-19 Cases

        India reported 69,878 new COVID-19 cases, the highest one-day rise in new cases as the total case count nears 30 lakhs. Of the 29,75,701 total cases, 6,97,330 are active cases while 22,22,577 patients have been cured or discharged so far. The death toll has risen to 55,794 after 945 patients have died due to the disease.

        Plasma Therapy As Emergency Use On Hold In The US

        US' Food and Drug Administration Body has put the emergency use authorization of convalescent plasma therapy on hold after experts stated that there is not enough evidence supporting the use of plasma therapy for COVID-19.

        ICMR To Check Effectiveness Of BCG Against COVID-19

        The ICMR is set to check effectiveness of BCG vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in the elderly population in several hotspot areas in the country.

        In Mumbai, around 250 participants from the age group of 60-75 who have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not immunocompromised can participate in the study and will be followed for 6 months.

        India's Total Case Count Nears 30 Lakhs

        India has reported 68,898 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours to take the total case count to 29,05,823. The active caseload is 6,92,028 while 21,58,946 patients have been cured or discharged so far. The death toll has risen to 54,849 after 983 patients died due to the disease.

        Restaurants To Sell Liquor In Delhi

        Restaurants and hotels will be allowed to distribute liquor at respective tables in Delhi, while following social distancing norms, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia wrote to the Excise Department. Several restaurants reopened in the capital from June 8. The National Restaurants Association of India had written to the Excise Department to allow to the sale of liquor within their premises. 

        Bars will continue to remail shut in the capital.
