      Coronavirus LIVE Update: India's Cases Rise To 59,92,532; 94,503 Dead

      Live updates about the Coronavirus, COVID-19, statistics and death toll: COVID-19, the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus which emerged from China in December 2019 has now spread across the world.

      India has officially confirmed ‭ 59,92,532 cases with 94,503 deaths till September 27, 2020.

        Maharashtra, Delhi Report New Cases

        Maharashtra reported 15 new cases taking the state's total to 335 cases and 3 deaths taking the toll to 13. Two people in Mumbai and one person in Palghar died due to COVID-19. 

        Delhi's case count has increased to 152

        Multiple States Report New Cases

        Tamil Nadu reported 110 new cases taking the state's total to 234 cases. Furthermore other states reported newer cases. Kerala reported 24 new cases, Maharashtra reported 18 new cases, Madhya Pradesh reported 20 news cases, Gujarat reported 8 new cases, and Punjab reported 5 new cases.

        The Indian Council for Medical Research confirmed that they have so far conducted 47,951 cases  and their capacity utilization is at 38%. On March 31, 2020, government's ICMR tested 4562 samples, with 816 tests in private labs. 

        There are currently 126 government labs and 51 private labs conducting testing in the country.

        Further Preparations By The Govt For Tackling COVID-19

        Indian Railways is preparing to create 3.2 lakh isolation beds by converting 20,000 coaches. Work on 5,000 coaches has already begun through which 80,000 new isolation beds will be available.

        The Civil Aviation Industry has launched Lifeline Udaan flights through which medical equipment, personal protective equipment and essential commodities are being transported. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authoritiy is bringing 24 medical devices under the drug category so that their quality control management can be undertaken. This assists in controlling the prices of these devices. The manufacturers cannot increase the prices of these devices by more than 10% of the price in the last 12 months. 

        The AYUSH Ministry has published an advisory for prevention of respiratory problems.

        The Supreme Court has advised all States to have psychosocial support and leaders from various religious communities at the camps erected for labourers to assist them through these times. 

        The Ministry has launched a new government id called technicalquery.covid19@gov.in for assisting doctors with technical assistance.

        Wipro Donates 1,125 Cr To PM Cares Funds

        Wipro and Azim Premji Foundation have donated 1,125 crore to the PM CARES Fund to tackle COVID-19. 

        Wipro is an addition to the long list of celebrities and corporates who have donated towardsthe PM's funds.

        Uttar Pradesh Reports First Death, Many States Follow

        Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra reported new deaths due to COVID-19. 

        A 25-year-old man from Basti in UP tested positive after his death in BRD hospital in Gorakhpur. 

        Mahrashtra and West Bengal reported 2 new deaths while Madhya Pradesh reported one new death due to COVID-19

        India Reports 1637 Cases, 38 Deaths

        In a span of 12 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 240 new cases and 3 new deaths across the country taking the count of confirmed cases to 1637 and deaths to 38 as of 9 AM on April 1, 2020. 

        The Ministry revamped its website making it more user-friendly. Maharashtra with 302 cases has the highest number of cases in the country. Kerala with 241 cases has the second highest cases. Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan have reported more than 100 positive cases of the virus.

        Maharashtra Reports 302 Cases

        The Maharashtra State government reported 82 new cases on March 31, 202 taking the state's total to 302 cases. 

        Mumbai reported 59 new cases. The state ministry stated that these cases were an accumulation of cases over the past few days as private labs had begun testing as well.

        India Reports 146 New Cases, 3 Deaths

        The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed 1397 cases of COVID-19 in the country with 35 deaths as of 8:30 PM on March 31, 2020. 

        The country has reported 146 new cases and 3 new deaths since the Ministry's last update at 9:30 PM on March 30, 2020. The Ministry which was updating twice a day till March 30 updated cases only once on March 31. When asked reasons for the lag in the updates, Mr. Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary MOHFW stated that the ministry was concentrating on initiating contact tracing over updating the website. 

        Many States have reported more positive cases than the Ministry's recent update.
